Here at East Hill we believe that the Bible has unique relevance to the development of the whole person and assign priority to its instruction in all academic disciplines. This month, we saw this displayed in the incredible Christmas performances put on by our elementary students.

Both performances were filled with Christ-centered praise, joy, and talents. Whether your student is in music or math class, our desire is to see them excel in an environment that has the Word of God as its cornerstone.

Thank you to Mrs. Witter and her students for celebrating the true meaning of Christmas this past holiday season.

Tuesday, January 17 – Soccer Moms and BBQ Dads Day
Come dressed as the best soccer mom at the fields on a Saturday morning or the dads out by the grill!

Wednesday, January 18 – USA Day
We want to fill our halls with all of our red, white, and blue gear! At the end of the day, we will have Round 1 of the Dodgeball Tournament.

Thursday, January 19 – All American Day
Time to show off your favorite sports team’s jersey! At the end of the day, we will have the Final Round of the Dodgeball Tournament.

Friday, January 20 – Party in the USA Day
As a class, students will dress up as your selected state. We can’t wait to see what you come up with! We will end the day with our Pep Rally to cheer on our Eagles. Parents are welcome to attend!

Saturday, January 21 – Homecoming Dance
Grades 9th-12th are invited to join us for this year’s dance, “City Lights,” from 7:30pm-10:30pm. Location is TBA.

Reading is celebrated at EHCS! We are an Accelerated Reader school, which means students read and earn points for taking comprehension quizzes each quarter. After setting a goal at the beginning of the quarter, those students who meet their reading goals are rewarded in different ways.

This December, 54 3rd-5th graders were treated to a Christmas party, complete with cookie decorating, ornament making, and “reindeer games.” We are so proud of our reading Eagles!

A special thanks to everyone who came out to support Student Leadership at the annual Breakfast with Santa event this past month. As they prepare this month for their trip to Orlando, we are reminded that events like these help ease the financial burdens for our families. Thank you!

Student Leadership also hosted its annual Jingle All the Way Day. Students came dressed in their best Christmas attire and it was a great day full of prizes, holiday activities, and Christmastime joy!

The EHCS faculty and staff were surprised with a special visit from a couple of the PTF moms this past month. They visited both campuses and gave out special treats and drinks as a thank you to the teachers and staff.

Thank you to everyone who joined us at our “A Very Merry Bob Ross” Christmas chapel service and
made this event possible.

Our students spent the morning creating masterpieces that were given to local residents at Wesley
Haven Villa as Christmas gifts.

MRS. TYNE’S 7TH GRADE ENGLISH CLASS HAS BEEN WORKING ON FAMILY TRADITION WRITINGS. TAKE A LOOK AT A STUDENT’S ORIGINAL WORK…

Family Tradition By: 7th Grade Student

In my family, there are many cultures and traditions that are very important to my family in showing our cultures and values. These traditions have been passed down from my Grandparents to my parents. The two most important cultural patterns that are in my family now have been inherited from the blending of both cultures, from my Mom’s Grandparents and my Dad’s Grandparents.

Every Sunday, my Mom always prepares dinner for me and my family, and my Grandpa always is the one to make sure that the whole family is
at the dining room table by 6:00 o’clock and ready to eat. This tradition has been in our family for a very long time, and I really love it because it helps bring our family around a table and bond with each other. Once we finish eating we have one person make up a game and then we play that game whether it involves going outside, playing with cards, or even dancing. We still do it because it give us time to spend together and act crazy. Everyone loves it because it shows us how much God has done for us and what he has blessed us with, as well as how he works in our lives. Once we have finished playing our game, or doing whatever we did, we read a bible verse, pray, and talk about how amazing God is and how thankful we are for him, and all he does for us. Then once the sun has set we bake cookies and have hot chocolate and the adults have coffee. Once we have eaten dessert then we have everyone leave and then everyone at my house goes to bed, then the next day comes and that is how my Sunday night goes.
